BABY MAGPIE!
Jam Jam and me have sorted out our uh differences amd are united in fighting the cruel world again!!
We found an orphaned baby magpie at our school so we decided to do our project on orphaned baby birds! I know what your all thinking, "its mother still might have been there" the answer to that is NO we watched for nearly a whole day for the father didnt see anyone and couldnt find a nest, (the mother was dead) :( . The baby has some down with some proper feathers on its back and tail!, I am going to take it home and look after it (i have done this before)
We were talking and reaslised this would be the ideal project for us, because we love animals and hate it when they suffer. So united we fight!
Go baby magpie we are cheering for you!

Barack Obamas Speech to american students
The question we have to answer for our lesson is; What is the purpose and vision of Obama implies in his speech?
President Obama gave a speech at Wakefield high school about the students in America he talked about the responsibilities of parents to keep their children in school and to make sure that they did their homework and students to always try and never give up. He said that the best chance at getting a good job in society was to stay in school do well and attend college (university).
I think that the purpose of his speech was to motivate American students into staying at school and never giving up on their dreams, getting a good job that benefits the community as well as themselves.

The Ayiti questions
this is very of the topic but we have to do it for our work
The game Ayiti
http://www.unicef.org/voy/explore/rights/explore_3142.html
1. What was it like playing the game? Playing the game was an interesting experience to what it is like in a third world country.
2. what was the game about and how would you describe it to a friend? The game was about living in a third world country called Haiti and keeping a family of 5 alive and trying to give them an education. I would describe it as an interesting game that shows you what it is like to live in a third worl country where not everyone gets an education.
3. Which primary objective did you chose and why? My primary objective was education because without education the childrens life wouldnt improve and they wouldn't be able to get an improved job later in life.
4. What types of decisions did you have to make about the family members while playing? I had to decide if they were going to work and if yes where, if they were ging to go to school and where they were going to go, If they were sick whether to send them to hospital or not. What items to buy.
5. What strategies did you use? My strategy was to make 4 of the people work and 1 go to school and alternate this for the first year for each person, to buy the books and the farm animal for some extra income and to if they got sick send them to hospital so it could be fixed straight away, once i had saved up some money i sent the kids to school while the parents worked at their market stall. Then later on when i had lots of money i sent them all to school. Did they work or did they not? Yes they did work the game ended and no one had died, they had gotten an education and were fairly happy.
6. Why would parents choose to devote so much effort to sending the children to school? The parents would devote all that time to sending the children to school because then the children would have a better life than them.
7. How many of you were able to keep the children in school? I managed to keep at least one child in school every time, and at other times i had everyone at school.
8. What obstacles did you face in trying to keep them in school? The problems i had were mostly financial at the start then later on it was illness.
9. How do the situations and opinions in this game compare with those in your own community? Umm i think it compares because some people cant afford to send their children to school.
10. Why might access to education be a challenge in another country? I think it might be a challenge because soimetimes it is to expensive and and people might live to far away to get to school.
11. What factors would make it easier for children in the game to gain access to education? You could start of with money or have a free public school so that all children can have an education. What conditions could be changed and how? The conditions could be changed by having the school free and a cheaper hospital.
Done hehe

wristbands
we have come up with the idea of having wristbands (like the ones for cancer, beyond blue ect)
and we are going to have them in the colours blue and green for the RSPCA we are going to ask the RSPCA to sponsor us for the cost of the bands then donate all the procedes to the RSPCA.
We are going to have something written on them like this for example: speak for them because they cant help themselves, something along those lines.

Buckley

Hi,
Back again and still waiting for replies....
well we are wondering what everyone thinks about buckley,
the little puppy who got his ears and tail hacked of with gardening shears or scissors.
Now for our projects we are trying to come up with a better way to raise money and we are thinking about the charities we would donate to,
Does anyone have any ideas for raising money quicker ect and which charity to donate it to?
we are eagerly waiting for people to reply
Thanks

First post! School animal project
Hey,
How is everyone going?
I am *Jam* i am working on a joint project with my friend *Jam Jam*.Our project is largely self dictated and it has to be about our interest which for us is animals but it has to have an aspect of multimedia.
We are thinking it will be something were we take photos of the animals at the local shelter and post them on our blogs, then we will have a day when we go back to the shelter and show of the animals to the prospective buyers. We also have a charity section when we take the animals from the shelter for a walk for the day and ask for donations from people in town. Then we will donate the money raised back to the shelter so it can make improvements ect.
It would be appreciated by us both if you could leave comments and suggestions behind.
